Rosso del Conte is undoubtedly one of the historic wines of the great Tasca d'Almerita winery.

It was born on the Regaleali estate and is made from Nero d'Avola grapes accompanied by a percentage of Perricone.

It is an exuberant, vibrant and very energetic wine, especially when it is young, after which with refinement it becomes very velvety and with a good taste progression.

It has boasted many and varied awards over the years, since its birth in 1959, from Gold Medals at the World Competition in Brussels to Three Glasses from Gambero Rosso, to various Crowns of Vinibuoni d'Italia. Salealto, the King's wine - Cusumano

In this wine there is the story of King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon and of the Real Casina di Caccia di Ficuzza. Here, in the 1800s, the sovereign kept his own wine, produced with grapes from the vineyards located around the Ficuzza estate.

Davide and Antonio, the brothers who manage this winery, wanted to imagine what the wine drunk could be like in the times of the King, thus giving birth to Salealto, a "vin de terroir", obtained from Insolia, Grillo and Zibibbo grapes in equal parts, before vinified separately and then aged together.
