Alta Mora Etna Guardiola, a rare Red enriched by the antiquity of the vines from which it was born - Cusumano
This Etna Rosso was born at the foot of Etna, in Contrada Guardiola, in Castiglione di Sicilia.
It grows on pre-phyloxxera vines of Nerello Mascalese, in over 150-year-old sapling-trained vineyards, which enjoy a very cool climate, and the sudden changes in temperature between day and night give it that strong character and expressiveness it enjoys .
It is a very extreme red, in which the expression of Nerello Mascalese is fully felt, very fine and with a stony and mineral character.
The ripening of the grapes is very slow and the yield is very low, but the grapes that emerge have a very elegant as well as aromatic profile.
After the harvest, fermentation takes place at 28°C, with the must undergoing a maceration period of about 20 days on the skins.
After which the wine matures in special tonneaux barrels and finishes the refinement in the bottle for a few months.
In the glass this red has a fairly light ruby red color with some bright reflections, the nose has a bouquet of red fruits, aromatic herbs and some spicy nuances.
While on the palate it is well structured, elegant and with a delicate and balanced finish.
