Light ruby red in color, Dea Vulcano 2021 offers a refined bouquet with notes of red fruit (wild strawberry) and floral hints of violet; delicate tertiary nuances are added including black pepper and sweet tobacco. Made entirely from Sangiovese vineyards in Castelbuono dell'Abate, the Brunello di Montalcino from the Tassi winery is a still red, aged 36 months in medium-sized wooden barrels.
The 2016 vintage is universally recognized as exceptional, thanks to the climate. The result is a pronounced and slender wine, which is essential by touching the right spheres of blood orange, parched sage, dehydrated cherries and dehydrated chamomile. The spicy secondary profile is reminiscent of turmeric and white pepper.

The 2012 Riserva, the last vintage signed by Franco Biondi-Santi, was produced with the Sangiovese Grosso BBS11 (Brunello Biondi Santi 11) clone, identified and selected by Biondi-Santi at Tenuta Greppo in the seventies. For this Reserve, grapes originating exclusively from the oldest vines with over 25 years of age were used.
