TASSI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO DOCG 2016
With a very limited production, the Brunello di Montalcino Giuseppe Tassi perfectly conveys the philosophy of its creator, allowing you to discover a characteristic and strongly territorial approach to the Montalcino world.
The 2016 vintage is universally recognized as exceptional, a vintage that recalls the qualitative peaks reached in 1990. The weather was really mild over the months, following the seasons well and ensuring rain in the right periods, without generating water stress during the period. summer even in the most difficult area which is the area south of Montalcino.
Produced with low-yield grapes carefully harvested in the small 2.8 hectare vineyard in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, on clayey soils with the presence of minerals (manganese, iron, magnesium), protected by Monte Amiata and carried out organically, the Brunello di Montalcino is fermented in concrete in contact with the skins unlike all the other splendid wines produced by Fabio, before being decanted into 700-liter tonneaux where it matures for two and a half years.
The result is a pronounced and slender wine, which is essential by touching the right spheres of blood orange, parched sage, dehydrated cherries and dehydrated chamomile. The spicy secondary profile is reminiscent of turmeric and white pepper which also recurs in aftertasting. Medium-full body, perfectly ripe tannins and a juicy and very harmonious finish.
