Etna Bianco Superiore DOC V.Q.P.R.D. - Produced on Etna by Az. Vin. Baron of Villagrande
Villagrande is not only the name of the district of Milo in the province of Catania, but also a unique and fascinating reality, where the Nicolosi family has lived for over three hundred years. The vineyards, dominated by the winery, on the eastern slope of Mount Etna at 700 meters above sea level, descend into a sort of natural amphitheater towards the sea, overlooking Taormina and the Ionian Sea. For generations they have been bred in unique climatic and landscape conditions. Mountain vineyards, surrounded by oak and chestnut woods that create intense and easily recognizable aromas; the roots sink into a land of strong volcanic origin: the land of Etna Bianco DOC Superiore. Rich in iron and copper, with a good level of potassium, phosphorus and magnesium, very little nitrogen and totally devoid of calcium. Temperatures and precipitation are influenced by the effects of the active volcano and the altitude.
This Sicilian White Etna DOC Superiore V.Q.P.R.D. (Quality Wine Produced in a Determined Region), is produced from Carricante grapes and native Etna grapes on the volcanic soil.
"It is said that Sicily is a land of contrasts, and so is this wine. The smell lets you understand dry, sharp sensations, softened by floral notes and white-fleshed fruit. Instead, at the first sip it is fresh and direct, at the same time enveloping. "
Straw yellow in color, with good brightness and density. On the nose, floral and white fruit aromas are persistent, overall it is harmonious and elegant. On the palate a marked acidity, an elegant taste and a persistent minerality. A fine white with great elegance, whose strong personality is given by the land from which it is born and of which it bears the name.
