Artemisio Rosso IGP Cantine Lipari – The Charm of the Amphora

The Artemisio Rosso IGP by Cantine Lipari embodies tradition, history and innovation. Its name recalls an ancient temple dedicated to the Goddess Artemis, known by the Romans as Diana Facellina, which once stood near the Valle del Mela in Santa Lucia del Mela (ME). From this fertile and mineral-rich land, facing south and kissed by the sun, comes a red wine of great identity and charm.

Vinification in Terracotta Amphora

Artemisio Rosso is crafted through an ancient winemaking method – fermentation and maturation in terracotta amphorae. The grapes of Nero d’Avola, Nocera and Nerello Cappuccio undergo a 4-month maceration on the skins with frequent pump-overs, followed by 8 months of aging in amphora and another 4 months in bottle. This process allows the wine to develop an authentic, pure and mineral-driven character, free from external influence.

Authentic Aromas and Distinct Character

In the glass, it reveals a deep purple-red color. The bouquet is elegant and rich, with aromas of ripe red fruits and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it is smooth, clean and persistent, with a balanced structure and a refreshing finish that invites another sip. A wine that combines the softness of Nero d’Avola, the strength of Nocera and the fragrance of Nerello Cappuccio.
