Tax includedRed wine made from Nero d'Avola grapes, grown in the Suor Marchesa estate of the Duca di Salaparuta winery, on a hill well exposed to the winds, in central southern Sicily.
Nero d'Avola has been grown in this area of the island for centuries, the prince of Sicilian vines recognized internationally, which finds its ideal habitat precisely in the Riesi area, thanks to the particular pedo-climatic conditions.
The exposure at noon ensures that the vineyard is sunny during the day while the right slope and adequate natural ventilation allow the grapes to maintain the correct balance of hydration.
The soil here is mainly of a siliceous-calcareous and deep composition, with small areas composed of clayey-calcareous and conglomeratic soils with good reserves of assimilable potassium. The loose soil allows the roots to go deeper to find water, which is rare and precious during the summer months.
