Contesa dei Venti is a 100% Nero d'Avola, produced in South Eastern Sicily, in the Vittoria Estate, between the Hyblean plateau and the sea, in the lands of the Baroque.

A Sicilian wine with a ruby ​​red color, which stands out for its floral scents of lavender and violet.

The fragrant bouquet is enriched with notes of red fruits and spicy and balsamic nuances. In the mouth it is fresh with a pleasant return of fruity notes and a soft and enveloping tannin, with a persistent and elegant finish.

PRODUCTION AREA: South-eastern Sicily, in the territory of Acate.

NAME: Vittoria Doc Nero d'Avola - Sicily.

GRAPES: Nero d'Avola.

SOILS AND CLIMATE: altitude 120-150 meters above sea level; gently sloping land; soils tending to sandy interspersed with a substrate of limestone tuffs and medium-textured soils; pH 7.7, total limestone 21%. The climate is warm temperate, mitigated in the summer by a breeze coming from the sea, as well as by good temperature variations between day and night.

VINEYARD: espalier training with spurred cordon pruning, leaving 6 to 10 buds for each plant. Plant density 4,000-4,500 plants per hectare; yields of 70-80 quintals / ha.

VINTAGE: in Acate, the lower rainfall recorded in the year (281 mm compared to the average of 410 mm) were offset by drip irrigation which favored the regular vegetative-productive cycle; Nero d'Avola grapes thus reached an ideal sugar, aromatic and phenolic ripeness, a premise for wines of particular fragrance and pleasantness. HARVEST: the harvest began in the second decade and ended in the third decade of September.

VINIFICATION: fermentation is carried out in steel with maceration on the skins for about 10 days at a temperature of 25 ° - 28 ° C. Once the malolactic fermentation has taken place, it is refined for about 8 months in the tank and then in the bottle for at least 7 months.

ANALYTICAL DATA: alcohol 12.95% vol., Total acidity: 5.0 g / l., PH: 3.50.
