Barone Montalto was born in 2000 in Santa Ninfa, in the province of Trapani. Constant passion has always been the driving force behind the company's project. Montalto wines come from the great tradition combined with a young character. Barone Montalto has grown over the years, together with the vineyards and the satisfaction of the customers, who continue to choose these wines with increasing confidence.
Making wine is a noble and ancient art. To achieve this goal, the Montalto winery has created a young team, driven by a passion for the land and respect for traditions, but also open to innovations.

Sicily is a strong and legendary land, a unique place for the cultivation of vines. It is no coincidence that it is the most important wine region in Italy. Barone Montalto manages about 400 hectares of vineyards, part of which is owned. The remainder is subject to the "Montalto quality protocols" through which the quality of the grapes conferred is checked and guaranteed, confirming a qualitative growth over the years. Most of the vineyards are located in the heart of the Belice Valley, near Santa Ninfa. A historical territory but also ideal for the cultivation of the vine in which the winemaking cellar is also located. The other vineyards are located in the province of Agrigento, in the Valley of the Temples, and in Noto, in the southwestern part of the island.
The cellar is equipped with the latest generation systems, in step with the most restrictive safety and quality standards. In fact it is highly certified: in addition to the various quality certificates, in 2015 they were among the first wineries in Italy to receive the AA level of the BRC / GSF plus. Here there are also the oenologists' laboratories where, with accurate procedures, all the vinification, refinement and aging processes are followed.
Varietal white wine, fresh and sparkling from Barone Montalto Chardonnay grapes
Produced from pure Chardonnay grapes grown on the land of Santa Ninfa in the Trapani area, the Montalto white Cucunci is a lively and balanced wine, sparkling, aromatic and pleasant, with a fresh acidity and aroma of yellow fruits and green apple.
Vinified with the Martinotti method, it is an aromatic and seductive sparkling wine, ideal to accompany appetizers or aperitifs, grilled fish or tartare, marinated anchovies.
Brut Cucunci Rosè sparkling wine from the Barone Montalto winery
The Spumante Brut Rosè Cucunci comes from Nerello Mascalese grapes which grow in the Belice Valley, a hilly valley in the Trapani area.
It is a very elegant sparkling wine, which has a pale pink color and a fine and elegant perlage, where fruity notes of cherry and white flowers stand out.
Thanks to its typically acidic flavour, it is excellent both for an aperitif and also throughout a meal.

The Grillo family collection of the Barone Montalto winery, is a fresh and fragrant white wine, which returns intriguing notes of cedar, tropical fruits and a harmonious and velvety palate.

From Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, an intense and full-bodied red is born, a finely balanced and structured meditation wine.
The most beautiful grapes are harvested by hand and placed for a month in ventilated drying rooms at a constant temperature. The natural enzymatic processes develop the aromatic and gustatory peculiarities of this wine.
To be combined with tasty meat, baked pasta, aged cheeses, extra noir chocolate.
Fresh and light Sicilian white wine produced with the Passivento method of Barone Montalto
The passivent method involves the partial drying of the grapes directly in the vineyard, which is then completed in the fruit cellar, where the skilful control of the ventilation helps the grapes to reach the ideal level of dehydration before pressing.
Produced with a blend of Grecanico, Catarratto and Chardonnay grapes in the lands of Santa Ninfa in the Trapani area, the Montalto white Passivento is a fresh and balanced wine, suitable to accompany appetizers and Mediterranean cuisine
Brut sparkling wine, Premiere Cuvee by Barone Montalto
A very pleasant and light bubble. Vinified with the Martinotti method, with a straw yellow color with greenish tones, this Brut Premiere Cuvée sparkling wine has an optimal fine perlage.
On the nose the aromas of the Cuvée express the pleasant citrus scents of the grape; grapefruit and green lemon give the taster a priceless freshness. In the mouth it is fresh and balanced.
Perfect as an aperitif or to round off the meal with a toast!

Barone Montalto's Cabernet Sauvignon Nero D'Avola is part of the Acquerello line that the winery wanted to dedicate to wines to bring to the table every day.
With an intense red color with lively and intense reflections, on the palate it fully expresses the characteristics of these two vines in a refined and deep taste. Phenolic, with a rich bouquet of spices, dark fruit, and touches of caramel. This wine has an elegant structure, soft tannins and sweet vanilla.

Barone Montalto's Grillo Sauvignon Blanc is part of the Acquerello line that the winery wanted to dedicate to wines to bring to the table every day.

Merlot Family Collection of the Barone Montalto winery, is a wine with an intense red color almost black with purple hues. The nose develops aromas of plum and blackberry jam with spicy notes. In the mouth it is full and the tannins are not lacking while remaining discreet and round. Excellent persistence and balance.
