With these words Tenute Navarra introduces itself, immediately underlining the ancient family tradition and the great love of their family towards wine and their vineyards.
Their vineyards are located in Butera, in the province of Caltanissetta, spread over 175 hectares immersed in a unique territory, in a "middle ground" between the sea of the southern coast of Sicily and the countryside of the hinterland.
A territory rich in history, culture and traditions, already recognized for some time with the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin "DOCG - Cerasuolo di Vittoria"
In this wonderful territory 4 different types of vines are born: Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Grillo and Chardonnay
Nero d'Avola: one of the most historic vines of the Sicilian tradition, a "black berry" vine from which historically red wines are born with very fine and complex flavours, and with strong hints of dried flowers and spices.
Frappato: an indigenous vine that originates in Sicily, where blue-coloured grapes are grown, irregular and with a fairly thick skin. It is characterized by its sweet flavor and its late maturation, which forces the harvest to take place at the end of September.
Grillo: a white grape variety that resists the dry heat very well, typical of South-Eastern Sicily, the grapes are very small and with a very thick skin. Thanks to this type of grape, very fine and elegant whites are born.
Chardonnay: a vine of French origin, white berried, with spherical-shaped grapes, with a very thin and green-yellow skin. One of the most cultivated types of white grapes in the world.
