Since the early 1980s Salvatore Di Gaetano's enological passion has been attracted to a particular place, the Firriato district, in the extraordinary countryside of the city of Trapani, an agricultural area deeply marked by the cultivation of vines and the culture of wine, placed between the beautiful sea of ​​the Trapani coast and the majestic fortress of the ancient city of Erice.

Behind a great wine there is always a large wine-growing territory with characterizing soil and climatic conditions. All the Firriato farm estates have a particularity in terms of exposure, microclimate, soil composition and ventilation. From east to west, we pass from mountain viticulture on the Etna volcano, to that of the sea of ​​the Egadi islands on the island of Favignana, passing through the exclusive contexts of the Trapani countryside. The company's philosophy focuses on everything: method, territory, pride and iron love. To present the excellence of Sicily and Sicilian wines to the world.

Chardonnay, the most widespread international white grape vine variety in Sicily, is characterised by its innate elegance and its splendid sensory properties which have influenced the best products of world oenology. The Di Gaetano family have chosen to cultivate it in the Dàgala Borromeo Estate, where the exposure and terroir permit this variety’s aromatic content and intensity of fragrances to find their best expression. The deep, fertile soil, of a sandy loam nature, forges a balanced wine with a full, fresh flavour. It is the perfect interpretation of the unmistakable Mediterranean style that only white Sicilian wines are able to express. Chiaramonte Chardonnay exhibits all the nobility of this variety thanks the care and precision of Firriato’s cultivation methods.

Firriato's Chiaramonte Bianco is one of the most famous and celebrated vines in the world which, like the noble Chiaramonte family, has found its new land of choice in Sicily. Straw yellow in color with greenish reflections, it has an elegant and fascinating aroma where you can easily feel hints of exotic fruit: pineapple, banana, mango and papaya. On the palate the taste is full and fresh, but at the same time savory and with good acidity and persistence, harmonious in progress and delicate in closing.

TASTING NOTES
Color: Bright straw yellow with marked shades of green.
Nose: Elegant and greatly charming aroma, where scents of exotic fruits, like pineapple, banana, mango and papaya, can be easily felt
Palate: Full and fresh taste, at the same time sapid and with good acidity and persistence, harmonic in entering the mouth and delicate in finish.
Characteristics: an extremely stylish and elegant wine; discreet and wellmannered but notwithstanding this still persuasive, its delicate approach is remarkably modern.
