Hierà 2021 IGP Sicilian Red Wine - Hauner.

The Hauner farm, located in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Salina, bears the name of the founder Carlo Hauner, painter and designer from Brescia who landed on the island in 1963 and fell in love with it and decided to move and enjoy the wonderful views that only these uncontaminated territories could give away. His passion for wine brought him in a short time to recover and spread some vineyards, bringing the Malvasia delle Lipari natural and passive Doc, an exceptional wine, already highly appreciated in antiquity, as well as an excellent selection of white and red wines.

Obtained from Alicante and Nocera grapes, native grapes grown in the vineyards of the Aeolian islands and harvested only after an effective assessment of ripeness. After a short passage in barrique, it refines 3 months in the bottle.

With an intense ruby ​​red color, an intense and rich aroma, with elegant notes of red fruits and sweet spicy notes of tobacco and cocoa. The taste is ample and velvety, a good sweet tannin, which leaves then leaves space in the mouth to a rich flavor and good alcohol content.

VINEYARD MANAGEMENT: trellising system

HARVEST: Middle of September under a controlled maturation of the grapes

VINIFICATION: Long maceration on the skins

MATURATION: In barriques for at least one year. Refiniment: 3 months in bottle

DESCRIPTION: A beautifull deep, luminous  ruby red color with light grenade glares. The bouquet of wide-reaching character is full of sensations that range from small ripe red fruits like blackberries and blueberries to underlying notes of vanilla and cardamon which blend together with minerals like graphite. Aromatic and generous in flavor; soft and smooth to the taste leaving room for the delicate and well-bodied tannins. Warm and sunny character lends itself to drinking with long harmonius lingering flavor on the palate.

FOOD PARING: Well matched with roasted and well-seasoned meats, tangy aged cheeses, but also does honor to a dish of sliced fresh tuna with capers and olives.
