Triskelè Nero d’Avola 2022 – Balance between heritage and modernity

Triskelè celebrates 200 years of winemaking by Duca di Salaparuta. Its name recalls the ancient triple-spiral symbol – harmony, strength, balance – here expressed in a modern, intense and refined Nero d’Avola. The label image draws on Emilio Murdolo’s work depicting Villa Valguarnera, the place of the family’s first vinification.

Origin & winemaking

Hand-harvested Nero d’Avola grapes are picked between late September and early October. After destemming and manual sorting, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature (26–28 °C) with targeted macerations and delestage. A prolonged post-fermentation maceration enhances aroma and suppleness.

The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks and then ages in French oak barriques – new and second-use – for 10–12 months. A further year of bottle ageing completes Triskelè’s identity.

Tasting profile

Deep ruby-red with violet hues. On the nose: ripe cherry, wild blackberry, sweet spice and toasted oak. On the palate: full and velvety, with polished tannins and a long, elegant finish.
