SICILIAN BLACK OLIVES
The Stuzzica Appetito are the traditional Sicilian black olives to be used in many sicilian typical recipes.
Sicilian black olives are hand-picked once ripe. Unlike the other olives that are processed and put immediately "in salt", these are selected, planted in crates and sprinkled with dry salt and left to drain, mixing them from time to time for a few weeks, so as to make them lose excess water. They are then washed and baked.
Once ready they are seasoned with salt and sunflower oil.
Exceptional to serve as an appetizer or to accompany delicious appetizer, they lend themselves to many uses in the kitchen: on pizza, in mixed salads or to dress tasty sandwiches. Or in the many typical Sicilian recipes, such as sweet and sour rabbit, in sautéed vegetables or in the classic schiacciata!
Store away from heat sources, if the bag is still vacuum-packed it does not need to be placed in the fridge and can be kept for at least 12 months.
Once opened, they can be stored in the fridge for up to 7 days.
