Tax includedThe caper is a typical Sicilian product renowned throughout the world; Sicily itself boasts several production areas of excellence. But perhaps not everyone knows that the caper plant, in addition to producing caper buds, also produces a fruit, and these caper berries are called cucunci. They are oblong, fleshy berries with pinkish flesh and a 2-3 cm stalk. They have a more delicate flavor than capers and an unmistakable aroma. In the Pantelleria dialect, they are called citròla and have the same organoleptic characteristics as capers, differing only in their fleshiness and flavor.
Here you can buy a bag of caper berries preserved in sea salt.
The cucunci you buy from us are a natural product, preserved in salt, without any flavorings, preservatives, or essences of any kind.
Always desalt before use.
