Favinia La Muciara 2017 IGT Sicilian White Wine - Firriato

Favinia La Muciara is the first label produced on the island of Favignana and is also the first fruit of the reintroduction of vitis vinifera on this strip of the Mediterranean sea. The vineyard of the Tenuta di Calamoni is today the only bastion of viticulture in the Egadi Islands. It extends to the same sea level with a distance of about 10 meters from the Calamoni cliff. The proximity of the vines to the sea determines unique and particular conditions with a constant ventilation that gives the vineyard unique peculiarities.

Firriato's La Muciara is a fresh, soft and enveloping wine. From Zibibbo, Catarratto and Grillo grapes, it has a light yellow color with marked greenish reflections. An elegant and complex aromatic spectrum with nuances of orange blossom, linden and elder that intertwine with scents of ginger, lavender and thyme. Captivates and intrigues from the first moment for the pleasantness of the blend of native grapes grown in a particular and unique climate and terroir.

TASTING NOTES
Colour: pale yellow with marked greenish hues.
Nose: elegant and complex range of aromas with nuances of orange blossom, linden and elderberry interwoven with scents of ginger, lavender and thyme.
Palate: soft and mouthfilling entry that unfolds with quiet authority, revealing a pleasant and vibrant acidity wrapped in elegant aromatic notes combined with an uncommon tanginess and minerality from the sea.
Characteristics: the distinctiveness vineyard of Calamoni makes Favinia la Muciara a unique wine. This blend of grapes which grow close to the Mediterranean Sea enchants and fascinates from the first instant. Admirable aromatic bouquet.
