Etna DOC Wine Cavanera Rovo delle Coturnie - Firriato
Light ruby red in color, Etna Rosso Doc Contrada Marchesa 2019 presents a fragrant bouquet with hints of small red fruits, spicy notes (cinnamon and black pepper) and underbrush, followed by balsamic nuances and a delicate mineral note.
From Nerello Mascalese grapes, harvested in the first ten days of October, Cuordilava is born, with a ruby red color, which presents a bouquet of small red fruits accompanied by spicy notes that blend with typical hints of undergrowth. On the palate it is broad and deep, characterized by well integrated tannins and elegant minerality; the finish of long persistence enhances its extraordinary personality.
At the table it is ideal with dishes based on mushrooms, legumes and red meats.
Vintage: 2018 - 2019
Etna Rosso Doc produced in Passopisciaro in the district from which it takes its name, which sees 20 hectares of vineyards on five different types of volcanic soils.
From grapes of Nerello Mascalese in purity, on the nose hints of small red fruits and balsamic Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is balanced and full-bodied, with a dense tannic texture and a long citrus finish. To be paired with fresh and aged cheeses or with second courses from the earth.
Produced exclusively from 80-100 year old pre-phyloxxera Nerello Mascalese vines, grown in the area traditionally called "Barbagalli", at an altitude of 900 meters on the northern slope of Etna.
In the glass this wine has an intense ruby color, the bouquet is instead very intense, complex and articulated with notes of myrtle and red fruits.
Furthermore, it is perfect to combine with meats such as pork, or with cheeses, even better if aged.
Vintage: 2016
Produced from ancient Prefillosseric vineyards, about 130 years old, this wine represents the pride of the Terre Nere estate. The Nerello Mascalese grapes give Prephylloxera a supernatural finesse also thanks to the presence of volcanic soils with a high percentage of pumice stone mixed with basalt.
