Etna Bianco DOC 2020 Sicilian White Wine - Tornatore
The cultivation of vines and the production of wine by the Tornatore family is a tradition that dates back to 1865 when the great-grandfather of the current owner undertakes agricultural activity. In 1910, Giuseppe, the current owner's grandfather, built a house and mill and increased the hectares of vineyards. A family with deep roots in the territory of origin, which in subsequent generations, has never neglected the attachment and respect of the same and traditions, and thanks to the combination of soil, climate and wisdom of the winemakers, produces wines of the highest quality but above all special and unique.
The vineyards, cultivated on the northern side of Etna, are located at an altitude of 650 m above sea level, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia with exposure facing north.
Ancient pure Carricante vines, rooted on volcanic soils, give us this unique white, elegant and balanced, characterized by a pleasant flavor and freshness, completed by an extraordinary minerality.
In the glass it has a pale straw yellow color with intense greenish reflections. To the nose it expresses subtle and elegant aromas of green apple, white peach and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean maquis. On the palate it reveals an attractive freshness and its elegant and characteristic aromatic outfit, all special mineral sensations, typical of the lava areas.

WINEMAKING SYSTEM The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and quickly brought to the winery where and manually selected on a belt-conveyor. Destemmed and slightly crushed, they are sent to the vertical press where they are gently pressed. The must is clarifi ed at low temperatures, and left to ferment at 15/16 °C. After the fermentation, the wine obtained rests on the lees for about three months.
AGING From 4 to 6 months in steel and cement tanks.
COLOR AND TASTING NOTES Light straw yellow with intense green refl ections. Pleasant hints of grapefruit, white peach and herbs, mark the nose of this wine which shows its true identity on the palate with a pleasant fl avor and freshness complemented by an extraordinary minerality; exclusive notes that invite to the second glass.
