Tax includedThe Organic Haermosa Grillo by Masseria del Feudo was born in Sicily DOC at 480 meters above sea level, on clayey soils from hand-picked grapes. Maceration on the skins is one of the decisive steps in the production of this wine, a large part of the organoleptic and gustatory characteristics depends on it.
The grapes come from a selection made by hand on a parcel of an old Guyot-trained Grillo vineyard and harvested in early September. The soils are calcareous and of medium texture, with a strong presence of skeleton. After destemming, the must is left in contact with the skins for about 40 days, during which alcoholic fermentation takes place, and then the wine rests on the fine lees until bottling. Masseria del Feudo is the model of a reality in which modernity and memory intersect, promoting viticulture and agriculture in a land where innovation finds support in tradition.
Their business philosophy translates into social responsibility towards the environment and respect for production quality, starting with the use of organic fertilizer produced by their cattle breeding for the fertilization of the land. The winery is modern, but it is housed in the old farmhouse of the estate. The wines ferment from indigenous yeasts, but are produced with an attention that is constantly supported by technology.
