Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso DOC: the wine that embodies the essence of Etna

Sul Vulcano by Donnafugata is an authentic Etna Rosso DOC, which celebrates the volcanic territory of eastern Sicily.

This wine is made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes, grown on the mineral soils of Etna, an environment that gives the wine aromatic complexity and an unmistakable character.

It immediately strikes you with its light ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet rich in hints of wild berries, accompanied by spicy notes and delicate balsamic hints that recall Mediterranean aromatic herbs.

On the palate it is juicy and balanced, with silky tannins that blend harmoniously into a long and persistent finish, with pleasant mineral accents that recall the volcanic soil.

Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso DOC: a journey to the heart of Sicily and Mount Etna

Donnafugata Sul Vulcano Etna Rosso DOC is a tribute to Sicily and its untamed nature, made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes grown on the slopes of Etna. It is an elegant, refined red that captures the essence of the volcanic soils, with a distinctive bouquet and an unmistakable flavour.

The wine is made mainly from Nerello Mascalese, a native grape perfectly suited to the soils of Etna, known for complex wines with aromas of red fruit, spice and dried flowers. Nerello Cappuccio is added, bringing soft tannins and spicy notes and helping to build an elegant structure.

The wine is aged for 14 months, partly in French oak barriques, for greater structure and aromatic complexity, followed by at least 7 months in the bottle. This care in the cellar gives the wine a perfect balance between freshness and structure.
