Pietradolce's Etna Rosso is a very fine wine thanks to the fact that it is born on old pre-phyloxxera sapling vines, and is then aged in cask for 14 months.
This wine, with a bright ruby red color and an energetic and structured flavour, the bouquet is intense and complex, with nuances of myrtle, red fruits and aromatic herbs.
Vintage: 2018
The Etna Rosso "Archineri" expresses an elegant pure Nerello Mascalese, thanks also to the place where its vines are born.
A wonderful village near Etna, which thanks to its microclimate, dry in summer and covered with snow in winter, helps to give this wine a fresh profile, but at the same time deep and very intense.
"Archineri" comes from old vines, about 80-90 years of age, in pre-phyloxxera saplings.
It is harvested in mid-October and the grapes, harvested manually, are then softly pressed, before being left to macerate for 18 days. After which it is left for 14 months in French oak tonneaux.
This red "Archineri" is the most classic of Cantina Pietradolce style expressions, a winery that has the philosophy of interpreting its wonderful territory in the most sincere way possible, to enhance its peculiarities and its immense beauties in an even more marked way.
In the glass this wine has an intense ruby color, the bouquet is instead very intense, complex and articulated with notes of myrtle and red fruits.
Furthermore, it is perfect to combine with strong flavours, such as a good aged cheese, or stewed red meat, or a simple pasta with meat sauce.
