Cusumano, a reality that extends throughout Sicily. Four estates, from Caltanisseta, to Monreale, to Partinico, thanks to the vision of Francesco, father of Diego and Alberto, current managers of the Cellar, who saw that there was not just one Sicily, but many Sicilies, with many varieties of land with characteristics own and distinctive.

Cusumano is one of the most important realities in all of Sicily, Diego and Alberto have been managing the cellar since 2001, their philosophy is to combine territory and technology, through methods that combine quality and quantity, but also investing heavily in communication and marketing.

The latest initiative was LightLand, a project by Vittorio Storaro, international master of cinematography, as well as winner of 3 Academy Awards. This initiative wanted to communicate how light is the distinctive element of the estates they own scattered on the island

The estates scattered on the island are:

• Tenuta Ficuzza, in Piana degli Albanesi, 700 meters above sea level
• Tenuta San Giacomo, in Butera, in the province of Caltanissetta, 400 meters above sea level
• Tenuta Presti e Pegni, in Monreale, in the province of Palermo, 300 meters above sea level
• Tenuta Monte Pietroso, also in Monreale, 400 meters above sea level
• Tenuta San Carlo, in Partinico, province of Palermo

FICUZZA HOLD

The vineyards on this estate are surrounded by woods, and are located 700 meters above sea level.

It is the first estate from which the new course of Cusumano began, it is located inside the Bosco di Ficuzza, in Piana degli Albanesi.

Insolia, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow here.

This is where Jalè, Angimbè, Ramusa, Salealto are born, and a sparkling wine that takes its name from the altitude of these vineyards, the 700.

SAN GIACOMO ESTATE

In Butera, near Caltanissetta, there is a wonderful estate where the land is white "like snow and Sicilian nougat"

Here, where the sun is reflected on the white soil, Nero d'Avola grapes grow.

In this wonderful place there is a strong temperature difference between day and night, which causes the grapes to maintain a strong acidity.

Here Nero d'Avola is grown, emblem of Sicily, which in this particular vine reaches a full and balanced maturation. Espalier-trained, the grapes are harvested manually, in crates.

ESTATE PRESTI E PEGNI

The estate, which is located in Monreale, is, according to the winery, "the one that best reflects the image one usually has of the island". Here the vineyards are exposed to the sun from sunrise to sunset, with the breeze coming from the sea to dissipate the heat.

Here, the most international vines grow, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Here the Noà and the Benuara are born.

MONTE PIETROSO ESTATE

This estate is also located in Monreale, Grillo grapes grow here, thanks to an ideal soil for growing this vine, which manages to bring out a freshness and flavor that increase its character, elegance and aging capacity.

Here Shamaris was born, which recalls the sea, that sea that you breathe when the Tramontana blows.

SAN CARLO ESTATE

The Cusumano house was born in Partinico, where their projects are developed and where they vinify and refine their wonderful wines.

It is here that they bring the grapes from the various estates during the harvest.
