Malvasia delle Lipari Passito D.O.C. 2019 - Hauner
The Hauner farm, located in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Salina, bears the name of the founder Carlo Hauner, painter and designer from Brescia who landed on the island in 1963 and fell in love with it and decided to move and enjoy the wonderful views that only these uncontaminated territories could give away. His passion for wine brought him in a short time to recover and spread some vineyards, bringing the Malvasia delle Lipari natural and passive Doc, an exceptional wine, already highly appreciated in antiquity, as well as an excellent selection of white and red wines.
The Malvasia Passita is a sweet dessert wine, takes the name of the vine from which it derives, the Malvasia delle Lipari, and its exceptionality is recognized through the Doc, with a production allowed only in the archipelago of the Aeolian islands. It has become the most important wine in Hauner's production. A wine with unique and unrepeatable characteristics, to which a late harvest is added a period of 15/20 days of drying of the bunches on the traditional "cannizzi", ideal structures to leave the grapes in the sun during the day and the night sheltered in the cellar.
It presents itself with a warm amber yellow color with lively highlights, bright and transparent, a wide and very fine perfume, with fruity and spicy scents. In the mouth a velvety sweetness, a pleasant softness, supported by great sapidity.
Exceptional accompaniment for Sicilian and non-Sicilian desserts, dried pasta or Sicilian cassata. Try it also with blue cheese, seasoned or spicy with mustard or honey.

VINIFICATION: After drying grapes on mats for 15/20 days, the juice goes into a temperature-controlled maceration on the skins

DESCRIPTION: beautiful amber color with lively and brilliant solar highlights. Excellent consistency noted for their narrow and substantial quality. Excellent bouquet bold and well-articulated. Replete with great finesse and perfumes of friuts: dried figs, dates, ripe apricots, honey and savory spices. The mouth feel is noted for its smoothness and the well-balanced sweet fruit which is susteained by itsindividually. Warm character and excellent texture. Stable and well integrated.
FOOD PARING: Well coupled with almond-paste based desserts, Sicilian cassata, pastries and pungent pecorino cheese served with orange-blossom honey.
