Lusirà – Syrah DOC Sicilia

Lusirà is the single-varietal Syrah of Baglio del Cristo di Campobello, a DOC Sicilia red whose greatest quality is elegance: soft, balanced and persistent, with enveloping intensity and aromatic complexity.

Lusirà embodies the Sicilian character of Middle-Eastern Syrah, flourishing in its promised land – four hectares of Cristo di Campobello. The realisation of dreams, together with a certainty of what will come to pass, have already taken root.

Territory and winemaking

The grapes come from deep, mixed calcareous and chalky hillside soils between 230 and 270 metres above sea level. After a harvest between late September and early October, the wine ages for about 14 months in French oak barriques and about 12 months in bottle before release.

Tasting profile

In the words of winemaker Riccardo Cotarella: “Dark ruby colour. The major attraction of this wine is its elegance, which caresses the mouth with intense and complex red fruit jam, taking on spiciness and finishing with a vanilla note that coats the tannins. This wine can be cellared for at least ten years.”

Food pairing and serving

Try it with fish soups, artichoke risotto, light meat dishes and fish couscous.
