Pietro Clementi is a Veronese lawyer who has been practicing for over 50 years. Originally from Illasi in the province of Verona, during the hard years of the Second World War, in the house of his grandparents, also lawyers, he became passionate about viticulture. Viticulture, in those years, was made up of oxen pulling the plow, harvesting grapes in wicker baskets and manual pressing. Precisely these artisanal gestures were the reason why the Veronese lawyer decided to become a winemaker.

In addition to the profession of lawyer, Pietro was also municipal administrator of Verona and mayor for over nineteen years of the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella. And it is in this town that he decided in 1969 to buy a manor house dating back to 1600, in the Contrada di Gnirega with twenty hectares of property, at the time divided into vineyards and woods.

The first steps in production were taken right under the small cellar of the house. In these years the lawyer was helped by his sharecropper called "Musciol", a mild and precise man, and by other producers in the area, including Santo Aldrighetti who for over thirty years has produced wines in Valpolicella.

Over the years he then began to make his way trying more and more to renew the structure, to get closer to the philosophy of grape selection and to replant the older vines with younger vines. The wine produced by the lawyer Clementi was intended for convivial moments with family or friends and for political moments, with his supporters, who during the events had the opportunity to taste "the Amarone del Sindaco".

2002 marks a change of course: Pietro Clementi decides to invest to expand the cellar and make it more modern and usable during production: on the ground floor we find a large room for drying the grapes and on the basement floors the rooms for vinification and aging. some wine. But the real change was to decide to produce wine not only for friends and family but to open up to the national and international market.

Currently the company is run by the second generation of Pietro's three children: Maria, Maurizio and Bernardino. Each of them plays a defined role, Maria takes care of the administrative part, Maurizio the marketing and the commercial area and Bernardino follows the wine and production chain, all in direct contact with his father. Recently the family has chosen to rely on a well-known winemaker in Veneto, Enrico Nicolis, for direct advice on wines.
