The TP7 Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC 2003 - Cantine Martinez
The Vergine Riserva 2003 is dedicated to the first car purchased by the Martinez family, a TP7 Diatto. It was the early 1900s when Gaspare Martinez, exponent of the second generation, lent it to King Vittorio Emanuele III during his trip to Sicily. In the tanning phase, which is the phase in the production process in which the type of Marsala to be obtained is defined, only alcohol was added to the DOC base wine from Grillo grapes to then start aging in oak barrels.
ALCOHOL CONTENT (% Vol):
Manual harvest of ripe grapes with a high sugar content, traditional pressing,
fermentation at a controlled temperature and preparation of the tanning by adding it to the wine
obtained, of only alcohol.
15 years in L 220 oak barrels.
Aging in steel containers for about 3 months.
50 cl bottle.
If stored away from sources of light and heat, it can be stored without time limits
continuing to acquire character over time.
METHOD OF STORAGE:
Once the bottle is opened, closed with its mushroom cap and stored in one place
dry, away from sources of light and heat, it keeps well for several months.
Marsala Vergine is an ideal glass to close the meal as a substitute for distilled spirits
alcohol content. It has a complex and decisive character that allows it to duet well with
highly aged cheeses, oysters, foie gras, bottarga but also braised meats.
SUGGESTED SERVING TEMPERATURE:
With savory combinations 8-10 ° C - With sweet combinations 14-16 ° C.
